The Great Glen is an area in the Highlands between Fort William in the south-west and Inverness in the north-east. Formed millions of years ago during the Ice Age, and with the help of a geological fault line,The Great Glen is a very scenic, mountainous area with three individual fresh-water lochs inter-connected by the Caledonian Canal, a man-made canal opened in 1822.
